Refills are available for the Army and Scout FireSteels. The Scout size will also fit the FireKnives. They can also be used to make your own FireSteel with a handle of your choice.

Mora Wood Carving Knife
Recently I bought the Mora #122 detail carving knife and its fraternal twin, the #120 detail carving knife. I was wanting a good, all around bench knife and had not been satisfied with what I had been using. A bench knife is one of those unsung heros of the shop, easily taken for granted and unrecognized for its utility. It is capable of much more than simply marking out.
The short 2.4″ blade with its fine point found easy completion with various tasks that required its unique and useful frame. Easily a knife to have ready to use at any given time. Adjusting the handle shape to your liking is also an option with this wooden handle. The accuracy of the blade can only be as good as it’s handle. Detail work with the mora 122 makes things much easier with its accuracy, thumb-push cuts, and long lasting edge.

It’s exactly what I needed for sharpening the ends of dowels for my wedding cakes. Very comfortable and easy on my hands and fingers. It was really bad cut, and took a while to heal. Do not take off your gloves when these are out, and pay extreme care even when putting them down on the table or in the tools box, as well as when they are in use. Carving smaller objects or adding intricate designs to a piece will see success with the mora 122. Typically, they are implemented to remove wood material in tight crevices or to make an advanced piece.
Hi, no I’ve never had the opportunity to use BeaverCraft tools, but I would be interested in trying them. The blade length is a bit long on that particular model for the kind of carving I typically do, however it’s something I could compare to the Mora. I know there must be something better there, but I don’t know the Australian market.
Still a very good knife if you don’t want to get into detailed carving. I have just started carving figures and find it difficult using nothing but some Japanese carving chisels.

The handle has just a bit of a gaurd to help keep inexperienced fingers off the edge of the blade. The blade is nominally 3″ but current inventory is a little shorter, just under 3 7/8″ .
